In the four districts of the municipality of Mau, the drinking water project as part of the AMRUT program began after the deadline had expired. While the plan is still incomplete in two stations. The situation is that the people at these stations are dependent on contaminated drinking water when it rains. On the other hand, those responsible for executing the plan place all responsibility on the contractor. In such a situation, thousands of people of these stations face many problems, while residents in two stations after the start of the program in the month of November eliminated the problem of polluted water due to the drinking water supply.
As part of the AMRUT program in Belbasia, Bhadesara, Pardaha and Bakwal of the municipality, the laying of 90 km of pipelines with four overhead tanks and 11 pipe wells in these four locations with a volume of approximately 25 crores has started. This work should be completed by January 2021 by the Jalnigam executive body. But over time, drinking water supplies only began in Belbasia and Bhadesara.
With the beginning of the drinking water system in these two places, the population of about 15 thousand got rid of the problem of contaminated water. At the same time, work on laying the elevated tank and the pipes and pipelines that are being built in Pardaha and Bakwal has not yet been completed. At these two locations only 50 percent of the work has been completed. The construction work has come to a standstill for half a year, in this regard the Jal Nigam acted several times with warnings to the contractor. On the other hand, the population of around 12,000 people does not get pure drinking water because no drinking water supply has been introduced in these two places.
