Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has been following a weekly tradition of meeting his fans every Sunday at the gate of his bungalow Jalsa for the past three decades. However, due to the COVID-19 outbreak and restrictions imposed by the Maharashtra government, he had to call off the practice. Now, as the state government lifts the COVID restrictions, Big B hints at the return of his Sunday Meats. Yes, the 79-year-old has written in his blog that if Sunday Meat starts again, it will be by following the precautions.
“Okay.. The news about mumbai city is that now there is no mask and protocol of covid.. off lands will be allowed .. and probably get to revive on sunday at jalsa gate on sunday, though given With the precautions gone.. such a desire to look ahead when I come back. Love and am in rest mode now.. need to be fine,” Amitabh Bachchan’s blog read.
The Maharashtra government lifted all COVID restrictions, including masks, on March 31. The news was announced on the occasion of Guddi Padwa, the traditional new year for Marathi and Konkani Hindus. The state government said that the use of masks would be advised but it would not be mandatory.
In March 2020, when India witnessed an outbreak of COVID-19, Amitabh Bachchan tweeted, “T 3470 – A sincere request to all FEF and well wishers! PLEASE DO NOT COME TO JALSA GATE TODAY.. SUNDAY MEETING IS NOT COMING SOON Take care…stay safe.”
Amitabh Bachchan was recently shooting for a film in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand when he wrote the blog. Describing how exhilarating it was to shoot in “Devbhoomi”, he wrote, “Travel.. leave ‘Devbhoomi’ and feel the excitement to be in this divine environment.. work work environment.. crew and co-workers .. all .. and the need to come back again .. to them .. and into the divinity of the surroundings.”
On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan is waiting for the release of his upcoming film. runway 34, co-starring Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh. The film, directed by Ajay Devgan, will hit the theaters on April 29. runway 34he also has Brahmastra, Bye and Intern Remake with Deepika Padukone.
