Fatehpur. The investigation into the purchase of science cases in the basic education department has not been completed in three and a half years either. The BSA that bought it has now also been transferred. After allegations of manipulation of the purchase, the investigation was handed over to the DIOS. But the related files are gathering dust in the DIOS office.
The government had allocated a budget of Rs 7,000 per school to purchase science kits in the upper elementary schools. Science kits were obtained from the same institution in 747 elementary schools across the district. A microscope-like five-piece toy and some glassware were found in a tin can in the name of the kit. There was a complaint in this government.

The then district judge DIOS Mahendra Pratap Singh and the deputy finance and accounting officer Anand Vikram Singh were responsible for the investigation. Both officers kept making rounds of the BSA office to investigate the matter, but the records of the purchase were not made available by the Basic Education Officer’s office. The matter of purchasing the science kit is pending investigation in the DIOS office. The DIOS stated that the BSA office did not cooperate with the investigation.
