The actress and Bharatanatyam dancer Shobana says she was infected with the Omicron variant of the coronavirus and had “joint pain and chills”. The 51-year-old actress, known for her work in Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil films, took to Instagram on Sunday night to let her followers know about her health. Shobana said she tested positive for COVID-19 despite being carefully and fully vaccinated.
“Despite the precautionary measures I got infected with Omicron. My symptoms were joint pain, chills, and a sore throat followed by a slight sore throat – that was only the first day! Actor wrote next to a selfie.
She is “glad” that she took both doses of the vaccine and urged everyone to do the same if they haven’t already.
“I hope and pray that this variant marks the end of the pandemic,” said the Manichitrathazhu Actor wrote.
According to data updated by the Union Department of Health on Monday, India saw a rise of 1,779,723 coronavirus infections in a single day, bringing the total to 3,57/07,727, including 4,033 cases of the Omicron variant reported in 27 states and Union territories have been up until now.
Of the total of 4,033 cases of the Omicron variant, 1,552 have recovered or emigrated.
