To update your address you need to follow the below mentioned steps:
- First of all visit the official website of Unique Identification Authority of India
- From the home page of the website, you have to go to the “My Aadhaar” option
- Dropdown list will appear “Select”update your address onlineOption given under “Update your Aadhaar”

- “Click” from the open pageProceed to update address,
- Now you have to enter your Aadhaar number and captcha code will appear on the screen
- Click on Send OTP option and you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number
- Enter OTP and click on “Verify” option
- Now edit address and upload supporting documents
- Submit your request by clicking on the “Submit” option
Update Address through Verification Letter:
- If you do not have Address Proof then “Click”Request for Address Verification Letter,
- Enter your Aadhaar number and captcha code will appear on the screen
- Click on Send OTP option and enter the OTP you received
- Enter the updated address and submit it
- You will receive an SRN number along with the link via SMS
- Click on the link and give your consent
- Login with your SRN number
- Review the address you edited and submit the request
- You will receive a verification letter with secret code at the same address via post
- Now login to the online address update portal and enter that secret code to complete the request
- Submit it and you will receive UNR number on your registered mobile number.

- To check the status, you must first visit the official website of Unique Identification Authority of India
- From the home page of the website, you have to go to the “My Aadhaar” option
- A dropdown list will appear to select “Check Address Update Status OnlineOption given under “Update your Aadhaar”
- Enter your Aadhaar number, URN/SRN and verification code on the screen
- Click on Check Status and your updated status will appear on the screen
