Acharya was born on October 10, 1946, the day of Sharad Purnima, in Sadalga, Belgaum, Karnataka Province. Acharya is rich in dispassion and extraordinary talent from birth. While practicing celibacy, at the age of 22, he received the Digambar initiation from Gurudev Acharya Gyansagar Maharaj on June 30, 1968 in Ashadh Shukla Panchami in Ajmer (Rajasthan).
