Barot. Starting July 1st, if you’re an SBI savings account holder, you’ll have to pay a higher ATM withdrawal fee and get a new checkbook. SBI has increased the fee in both positions. These new fees will apply from July 1st. Under the new rules, account holders must withdraw within the free limit or an additional fee will be charged for the withdrawal afterwards. There are more than a dozen SBI branches in the district, affecting approximately three Lakh account holders connected to it.
After exhausting the free limit, Rs 15 plus GST will be charged per withdrawal
Four withdrawals a month are free for savings account holders. After exhausting the free limit, these account holders will now have to pay Rs 15 plus GST fee per withdrawal. In the local branches and ATMs as well as at non-SBI ATMs there are fees for cash withdrawals. These account holders receive ten checkbooks per year free of charge. But now you have to pay Rs 40 and GST for a checkbook with ten checks. A checkbook of 25 checks requires Rs 75 plus GST to be paid. In an emergency, a checkbook of ten checks must pay Rs 50 plus GST fee. Seniors are exempt from the new checkbook fees.
SBI has charged a fee for withdrawing their basic savings accounts at ATMs after the free limit has been used up. There is also a charge for issuing a new checkbook. These fees apply from July 1st. Vikas Kamra, Manager, Baraut Branch of the State Bank of India.
