Of the 64 gram panchayats of the Deoband block, Meghrajpur, Nanhera Asa, Lakhnauti, Fatehpur, Dudhli, Ramupur Nizampur, Naglinoor, Gunarsi, Shahzadpur, Sultanpur, Diwalheri, Sakhan Khurd, Badhedi Majbata, Kurdi and Mahtauli are not organized. Of these, 115 positions are vacant by Gram Panchayat members. However, the nomination process for holding the elections began on Thursday, but there was less enthusiasm among the population for the elections. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., a few people kept reaching out to buy nomination papers. Deputy Development Officer Shivanandan Kumar said 86 nomination papers were sold on the first day. Nomination papers can also be purchased on Friday and Saturday. The nomination documents will then be submitted on June 6th. He said that 15 gram panchayats could not be formed in the deodorant pad because the 2/3 majority of the members were not reached. The election of the members of these panchayats will now take place on June 12th.
