Last year only 56 thousand 591 women passengers had traveled for free. In the year 2019, a record 1.25 lakh women passengers had set a record in the buses of Meerut region, which was the highest in the state. RM KK Sharma said that the department has successfully launched a fleet of 475 buses in the Rakshabandhan campaign to transport women passengers to their destinations.
