Geneva:

The United Nations Human Rights Office said on Tuesday that the latest confirmed civilian toll in Ukraine since Russia’s invasion 20 days ago was 691 dead and 1,143 injured.

The death toll, which included 48 children, exceeded at least 636 civilians killed in the country, according to a previous report from UN human rights monitors on Monday.

The UN said that due to intense hostilities in some areas and delays in reporting, actual civilian casualties, including Izium in the Kharkiv region, the southern city of Mariupol and Volnovakha in the Donetsk region, are believed to be “significantly higher”.
