Farrukhabad In the event of a fraud in the construction of toilets, the collector has ordered a return of 6.90 lakh against the outgoing village chief and secretary. Villagers like Prempal, who lives in Nagla Damu, Gram Panchayat in the Shamsabad region, complained about the rigging used to build toilets. In this context, CDO M. Arunmoli formed a committee made up of the District Social Welfare Officer, BDO Shamsabad and Under Engineer RED, and had the investigation carried out. 109 out of 170 toilets were found in it. Seven toilets were incomplete. 54 toilets were not built at all.
For this purpose, the CDO called the outgoing village chief Sanjeev Gangwar and the then secretary / village development officer Ved Prakash together to clarify the warnings of the FIR. After a satisfactory response was not received, steps were taken to address the misappropriation and misuse of government funds.
District Judge Manvendra Singh, who has ruled Sanjeev Gangwar and Ved Prakash as equals, ordered a receipt to be submitted by immediately depositing Rs 6 lakh 90 thousand into the District Hygiene Committee’s account. The non-deposit of funds is made from the secretary’s salary, while the outgoing chief is charged like land revenue.
