dynamic english opener Jason Roy Withdrawn from IPL 2022 citing bio-bubble fatigue. Roy had already informed Gujarat Lions about his decision. The new franchise bought the South African-born cricketer for INR 2 crores which was also his base price in the IPL 2022 mega auction.

This is indeed a big blow to the Titans as the 2019 World Cup winner in the recently concluded PSL 2022 in his life had scored 303 runs in six matches at an average of 50.50, which included two half-centuries representing Quetta Gladiators . While Gujarat is yet to name a replacement, they have some great options available. So, without further ado, here’s a look at five of them.

Five replacement options for Jason Roy in IPL 2022

1. Aaron Finch

Aaron Finch surprisingly went unsold IPL 2022 Mega auction despite Australia getting their first T20 World Cup win in UAE a few months back. Even at the base price of Rs 1.5 crore, no team was ready to buy him. However, now he has a chance to open the innings for Gujarat Titans along with young Shubman Gill.

Finch is currently the fifth-highest scorer in T20Is, having scored 2,686 runs in 88 matches, and also has a wealth of experience under his belt, playing for eight franchises in marquee tournaments between 2010 and 2020.

Hence, the Australian white-ball captain could be a great option to replace Jason Roy for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League.
