20 percent trains are not operating
Saharanpur. The lockdown has ended across the state, but still the operation of trains has not been completed. 20 percent trains passing through Saharanpur railway station are still not running. Due to this, passengers are facing problems on many routes.
About 160 trains up and down passing through Saharanpur used to operate before the Corona period. The operation of trains came to a standstill during the lockdown. Later, even during the unlock, special trains started operating, but the trains have not been fully operational. Railway officials claim that only 115 i.e. 80 percent of the trains are being operated, while more than 40 i.e. 20 percent of the trains have not been operated. However, the reality is that in the past, out of the number of passenger trains that used to run through Saharanpur, a large number of them are not operating yet. Station superintendent Kapil Sharma says that the operation of trains is being gradually increased by the department.
Passengers’ suffering
Saurabh Agarwal, a resident of Raghavapuram, says that due to non-operation of trains, there is a lot of problem. Had to go to New Delhi on Raksha Bandhan, but had to take a taxi due to non-availability of train. Shorit Sharma resident Patelnagar and Shivkumar Sharma resident Labor Colony also say that work is being affected due to non-operation of trains.

Saharanpur. For the past three days, farmers have been protesting near Jalandhar by capturing the rail track. Due to this, the operation of trains was also disrupted on Tuesday. More than six trains passing through Saharanpur were canceled and many trains were run by changing the route. Most of the canceled trains are those going to Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar and Jammu Tawi. These include Haridwar – Amritsar Janshatabdi Express, New Delhi Jalandhar Superfast Express, Dehradun Amritsar Express, Jammu Tawi – Kathgodam Express. Apart from this, Jammu Tawi Howrah Express, Mumbai Amritsar Express, Howrah Amritsar Express are being diverted through divert route. There are also many trains which have returned from the middle of the way. Station superintendent Kapil Sharma says that many trains, including Nauchandi Express, are operating as before, but the operation of trains on Jalandhar, Amritsar and Jammu Tawi routes is disrupted.
