Maharua. About 15,000 people had to deal with the humid heat because a high-voltage wire between the Maharua substation and the village of Bhikharipur was broken on Wednesday evening. Consumers had to face a similar situation by around 2 a.m. on Thursday. After a blockage of approx. 14 hours, the supply was restored. Consumers have expressed their displeasure with the interruption of the supply due to a broken cable.
In the district, consumers are facing major difficulties due to the problem of low voltage and undeclared power outages. At around 12 noon on Wednesday evening, the ailing high-voltage wire between the Maharua substation and the village of Bhikharipur broke. Because of this, the stream of around 15,000 residents in many other villages including Barabarpur Jariari, Ghanepur, Sarangpur, Patauna, Panti, Karauna Mirpur, Durgupur, Rampur Harinandan, Baharpur, Heedi Pakdiya, Bhikharipur Maganpur, Goitha and Karauna suddenly came to a standstill . After more than an hour of power failure, consumers called officials at Maharua Substation and learned that the high-voltage wire had broken near Bhikharipur village.
As it was night the problem could not be solved. While people struggled with the humid heat all night, many other issues, including drinking water, had to be addressed since the morning. Consumers had to be confronted with a similar situation until around two o’clock on Thursday. After 2 a.m., the supply was restored after the fault had been rectified. Consumers expressed their displeasure with the disruption in the supply network caused by a broken cable.
The consumers Ramtirath, Harshit, Sevaram, Madanlal etc. say that the supply system is operated with the help of ailing devices. The supply network is interrupted for hours every day due to broken cables and burning transformers. JE Ravindra Pal said that after the disruption was cleared, supplies were restored.
