Jhansi. The ESIC pharmacy, which opened in a rented house in the Manu Vihar colony, is sick itself. As per Employees State Illness Corporation policy, it has 20,000 families and more than one lakh associated with it. But serious patients cannot be treated here, this referral center is made for them. There is only one doctor in the hospital.
Not only Jhansi, but also patients from more than 11 districts of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, come to the ESIC pharmacy for treatment. Due to Corona, the number of patients in OPD has decreased somewhat. Otherwise, 50 patients came to OPD every day, five to six of them from other districts. About 15 percent of these patients need to be referred. According to the demand in the hospital, medicines are being sent from Kanpur. However, patients do not benefit from this pharmacy due to the lack of facilities and doctors. Sometimes the doctor sent on his own has to attend the meeting. Patients then have to wait in the pharmacy for the session to end.
Patients come from these districts
Patients from neighboring districts of Madhya Pradesh, including Jhansi, Lalitpur, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Banda, Chitrakoot, Datia, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, also come here for treatment who are registered under ESIC.
If not LT, it wouldn’t even have checked
There is no laboratory technician (LT) in the pharmacy. Because of this, the tests aren’t even run here. When doctors write tests for patients, they need to go to another location to get tested. Many people have them examined by private pathology centers because the report will be available soon.
